Our Ethos

Manton Hall specialises in dementia care, though we also cater to residents without dementia. We strive to deliver an exceptionally high level of care and to ensure that you are treated with respect, your confidentiality protected and your dignity preserved. We are passionate about treating each resident as a unique individual, appreciating your personality and preferences, whilst supporting you and your relatives in decisions regarding your care. The entire team at Manton Hall is fully trained in dementia care. From the sensory garden to the specialised one to one activity sessions, memory games and sensory baskets, our goal is to stimulate memory and maximise residents’ skills and abilities.

Your Health & Wellbeing

The prime objective of our home is to promote and foster health and wellbeing. On your admission, an assessment of need will be performed by a senior member of the care team, from which a Care Plan will be created. You, your relatives and doctors will be offered and encouraged to participate in the drafting of your Care Plan. A review is conducted monthly, unless changes in your condition necessitate more frequent reviews.

We arrange regular visits by a local GP and District Nurses, and escort and transport you to any outside appointments, as necessary. If you are currently registered with one of the three local GPs, we recommend you remain with your doctor who knows your medical history; otherwise you can register with Oakham Medical Practice. In case of illness, your relatives will be informed immediately and updated regularly on your recovery. If you are using the home for convalescent purposes, you will be attended by a rehabilitation team to prepare you for discharge home.

The cook is so helpful and both kind to our father and us.

Always smiling - tea and coffee always well received. The staff are all very helpful and caring, nothing is too much trouble. Dad looks well cared for and, although his Altziemer's is progressive, he is included in all activities, etc. Lynda W (Daughter of Resident)

The staff have been unfailingly kind

My husband has been a resident at Manton Hall for nearly 4 years suffering from dementia. The staff have been unfailingly kind both to him and also to myself and I have always felt supported through these difficult years as he does not know myself or our family. K B (Wife of Resident)
